CKS College Southmont Campus Celebrates Montessori Year-End Milestone and Kindergarten Moving Up Ceremony

SILANG, CAVITE — The vibrant spirit of the Montessori philosophy was on full display as CKS College Southmont Campus hosted its Montessori Year-End Program and KIndergarten Moving-Up Ceremony on May 7, 2026. The event served as a triumphant conclusion to School Year 2025–2026, gathering parents, faculty, and guests to honor the developmental milestones of the school’s youngest learners.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of CKS College President Dr. Judelio Yap, whose opening address emphasized the resilience of the student body and the collaborative effort between teachers and families. His remarks set a tone of deep gratitude, reflecting on a year defined by academic growth and character building.

The highlight of the morning was the “Montessori Goes Musical” program, a high-energy production where students from the Toddler, Nursery, Pre-Kinder, and Kindergarten levels took center stage. Moving beyond traditional recitals, the Broadway-inspired performance featured a diverse repertoire of cultural classics through heartfelt renditions of “Bahay Kubo” and “Looking for a Friend.” Dynamic dance numbers set to the soundtracks of The Sound of Music, Annie, Madagascar, and High School Musical. The show ended with a powerful performance of “Seasons of Love” from the musical Rent, showcasing the students’ vocal progress and stage presence.

Between performances, the audience was treated to a poignant audiovisual montage. The presentation documented the year’s journey, from hands-on garden activities and immersive field trips to vibrant cultural celebrations on campus.

The atmosphere shifted to one of formal pride during the Moving-Up Ceremony for the completers of the Katmon and Molave Classes. Led by their teachers, Ms. Kae Angeli Corpuz and Ms. Maria Patricia Cortez, the students marched in a traditional procession to receive their accolades.

Mrs. Luzviminda Sim, Vice President of CKS College Southmont Campus, officially presented the candidates for promotion. This was followed by the formal declaration by Dr. Yap, certifying that the students had successfully met the requirements to transition to Grade 1.

In concluding the program, Mrs. Sim highlighted the importance of home and school partnership in educating young minds, and quoted “十年树木,百年树人。 今日幼苗,明朝栋梁。This reminds teachers and families that while it takes ten years to grow a tree, it takes a lifetime of care to educate a person. The seedlings we nurture today at Southmont will surely become the pillars of our future tomorrow.”

As these young learners prepare for their primary school chapter, CKS College Southmont remains committed to its mission of fostering confidence and curiosity in every student. With its unique integration of the Montessori philosophy and the globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, Southmont provides a world-class foundation that prepares students to become lifelong learners and global citizens.

By ensuring they are well-equipped for the challenges of the years ahead, CKS College Southmont continues to be a premier choice for holistic, international-standard education in the region.
