On September 23, 2026, CKS College Southmont Campus welcomed the AMS/MACTE On-Site Verification Team as part of the verification process for Montessori Teacher Preparation of the US, a Montessori Teacher Education Program (TEP).
CKS College Southmont Campus is one of the program’s selected practicum sites for Adult Learners, providing future Montessori educators with an authentic Montessori environment where they can connect their academic training with actual classroom practice. The hybrid verification team was led by Jesmine Lok, Lead Verifier, with Noemi Carmack and Laden Cunanan as members. Ms. Carmack was onsite to observe the Montessori classrooms and prepared environment and to meet with the Montessori Director, AMS-credentialed teachers, and an Adult Learner completing practicum at the campus. They were joined by Ms. Normi Son, Program Director of Montessori Teacher Preparation of the US, and Ms. Shaine Son, Administrator.
Being chosen as a practicum site is a meaningful recognition of the quality of the Montessori environment and the work of the Montessori team at CKS College Southmont Campus. It provides Adult Learners with the opportunity to observe Montessori practice in a living classroom—seeing how the prepared environment, the teacher’s role, and the needs of the child come together each day.
This partnership adds another dimension to the Montessori program of CKS College Southmont Campus. It is not only a place where children receive a Montessori education, but also a place where future Montessori educators can observe, practice, and deepen their understanding of Montessori education alongside experienced practitioners.
